Congrats to you both, the insurance for me didn't take as long as I thought, after two weeks of waitng I got the guts up and called them, was approved, and had my surgery a lil over a month later. I wish you both the best of luck.

Congrats to you both... I am waiting for my surgery which is May 5th at the Cleveland Clinic... I have been waiting for this for a long time... the Clinic kind of messed up.. but we are on the right track now... and I go for my pre-op testing on the 23 which is next week I start my two weeks of slim fast this coming Monday... OH BOY! so I am having all the good food I can right now LOL... and saying good bye to Stone Cold Creamery! LOL forever! Not that I went in there that often.. maybe once a year.. but they sure are good!!!  I know the worst is all the before testing and then waiting for the insurance .... they can be a pain the butt! I think one of my worst fears is not getting enough protein in my body... I have been worrying about that for a while.  But I am sure once I get on a schdule that will work its self out all right... and Cleveland Clinic will not leave me high and dry.. Take care everyone.. good to see everyone posting.. hugs

Hello Jeannie... I am also having my surgery done at the Cleveland Clinic.  I already went through the orientation over a week ago, and now I have an appointment on the 6th of May for all of my evaluations, tests, and meetings with the psych, nutritionist, etc.  CC was nice enough to schedule most of the tests to be done all in one day for me, since I have about a 4 hour drive to get there.  They have already sent my schedule with the times for each appointment, but they didn't schedule a little time for me to have breakfast..since I have to fast the night before for the lab work to be done the first thing after I get there at 10a.m.  I hope they will let me get a bite to eat before any more testing...I'll be starved if they don't!!  One way to lose some weight!! I have chosen Dr. Schauer to do my surgery after I had researched his credentials and all of the excellent comments from WLS patients that he has already banded.  I feel very confident with my decision for both my surgeon and the hospital.  I have a lot of medical problems that puts me at somewhat of a risk for the surgery, including a previous triple heart bypass, and my risk for blood clots.  I'm sure I will learn what must be done prior to my surgery.  Now I need to have the testings done, then wait to see if my surgeon sets a surgery date for me. I'm getting so anxious, like a lot of you are to have this surgery performed. Good luck to all of you.....  Susie

Congratulations!  I hear Dr. Dirk is a great doctor.  Dr. Curry just inserted my Lap Band yesterday.  No pain what-so-ever , other than the gas.  I am having a little pain where my port is installed. And, of course, trying to learn how to eat.   Good Luck with your quest!!

Hugs,   Peggy
