Hi, Here is my situation, i need to Find a Doctor as soon as Possible, In 1974 i had The Granddaddy of all these wls, i had the JIB intestinal bypass, the majority of people who had this are either dead or had a revision, i need a revision, and it seems all these wls doctors i go to i never get to explain to the doctor i don't want a  wls, i had one and need a revision, the last one was at Akron hospital and they want me to go to one of the wls seminars, and then make an appointment in a couple months to see a doctor, i don't need wls i had it and need it fixed, i am dying plan and simple my issues are getting worse and worse and worse, i had begun to have a revision or the process in Florida but because of some  very unusual things that went on my support system there collapsed and i was unable to fini**** i have arthritis in almost every bone in my body, the blind loop the small bowel that still is in me, and just setting there is spewing poisons out into my system, i am in constant pain and NO NO doctor understands this so i suffer, and i don't mean slight pain, major issues with pain, Gastric acids are coming out whent i go to the bathroom which is now about 20 times daily, which in turn casues severe, burning in my rectum that hemmoriod aid can not help.

i have went round and round with doctors and all i want is someone to go in and re-attach the blind loop, and go from there, my body is breaking down as age comes on , when i was young it was fine and the operation i had very little issues with but with age its getting me, i just need to get in to a doctor not his staff and explain what is going on, a general doctor does not understand this and i have found not one who will look into it and find out the issues on it, I'm on Medicare and medicaid as I'm disabled, and i just want to be fixed before its to late, i have issues with my pancreas, and liver also and this is a side effect of this before all is destroyed i need help.

i can be reached m-f at 330-467-6497 or at [email protected] if your a doctor please help me!

If I were you, I would contact MAJOR hospitals to find a doctor.  OSU Medical Center, the Cleveland Clinic.  If they tell you to go to a seminar, go - at least its a foot in the door....when you're there, raise your hand to ask a question and tell them what you had in 74, and ask if you can talk to them for a minute after the meeting about your specific situation.  I don't know if it will hel*****t...but give it a shot.....sounds like you need to get a GOOD doctor who will take the time to listen to your specific situation. My thoughts go with you.  And I wish you luck.

Where are you located? I have been pretty pushy on the phone, and have been able to get appointments and a surgeons nurse to answer questions.  BUT, I would contact a general surgeon, and make an appointment with them. WLS dr's did their speciality in general surgery, so if they cant so it, they can probably get you in to a clinic and bypass all of the classes/ inerview/ screening Elizabeth

Claude, I would recommend you see a physician who specializes in the DS.   There is Dr. Maguire in Dayton and Dr. Lane in Bowling Green.  There are many more and for a more list check out  http://www.duodenalswitch.com    Good Luck!   Hope to hear that you've found someone to help you.

You might also contact a gastroenterologist or something?  My Doctor is Mark Lindsey and his practice is called "colon and rectal surgery" out of mount carmel hospitals in Columbus.  he's not technically a gastro, but he does specialize in the digestive system and surgery...maybe he or a doctor like that may be able to help?  Just an idea.  Good luck - I wish you the best!

What does your PCP say?  Ask them for a referral letter for the surgeon, so that it is spelled out clearly what is and is not going on and what is being asked.

Sounds like a very frustrating situation. I will keep good thoughts for you!

the family doctor im forced to use knows nothing about what is going on with me, and wont even look inopt it, he keeps trying to treat me as he would a normal person i am not normal, due to this alot of things worng with me, someone who did not have the operation may have simular problems however like my arthritis its caused by the blind loop, shooting poisons into my system and affecting the autoimune system where as in others it would be somethng else, and becasue of this normal meds, dont work ect...
