Michael, I am so sorry. I lost my best friend in January. He was a boxer, MAX was my companion for 8 wonderful years. I still cry when I think of my boy. My heart goes out to you and you're in my prayers. Lisa

Michael, I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your puppy. I have lost many pets over the years and it never gets any easier. But I am a firm believer in the Rainbow bridge and know that Rusty will be there waiting your arrival. In the meantime he is living pain free, running free without fleas and eating the very best food ever... I will keep you in my prayers as your broken heart heals. Love and hugs Laura

I am so sorry to hear this. I know how painful it must be. My two friends died in July. One was 13, a poodle, and the other was 15, a bichon. I did not think I was going to be able to stand it. My friends at work told me to go get a puppy but I just could not do it. But then the paper had a picture of a dog at the local humane society that had special needs. I called and the dog had allergies and sneezed. Well it must be the nurse in me because I had that dog home in an hour. She is great and the vet thinks she is 7 years old. Hang in there Michael...things will get better. It is a great loss. They are like family and children to us. Sandy

I'm very sorry for your loss. My baby, a 120 lbs German Shephaed died at the age of 12 almost 6 yrs ago. Everyone was saying get another dog, but I couldn't even imagine bringing one into the house. We all cried for days, even my husband. We still have Julie's pictures everywhere and a Memorial box where I keep all the ribbons, dog tags and even 4 baby teeth! Two years ago we bought a Basset Hound puppy, because I didn't want to compare him to Julie. He brought a lot of joy to our house and we really love him. But no one can replace my baby!

Michael, I am so sorry for your loss. What a good friend you were too! Take some time for yourself. I loss my dog last spring right before surgery. He was a shelter dog, we adopted him when he was 7 and what a joy to have although it was only for 3 years. We have Teddy now who is a real goof ball, also adopted from the shelter but just a year old. Dogs are such loyal companions. Give yourself time then maybe you will be ready to honor your dog's memory with another. I know you can never replace one you really have loved. Take Care.

Michael, I'm so sorry about the loss of your dear friend. I know how hard that is. I hope you can take comfort in the fact that you gave him a wonderful life and he's now playing at the Rainbow Bridge. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Monica

Michael, I am so very sorry for your loss (and sorry for the delay in this reply). I don't know if you would want to consider it, or if you already have, but rescuing a new pet from a local animal shelter could help heal your broken heart. While none will ever take the place of your departed best friend, a new best friend could lead to new happy memories. Might I suggest visiting the League for Animal Welfare?? I volunteer there. They are a no-kill shelter with many wonderful animals available for adoption. Their adoption counselors will work closely with you to find just the right new pet for you. Just a thought! Angela
