Feel good and have been able to do quite a bit, sometimes too much. Getting used to the constant input of water and fluids and have started with a few soft foods. My favorite thing to put in my mouth? SF Fudgesicles... The life saver popsicles were too strong. Trying to remember to chew my 4 vitamins a day. The worst thing about the surgery...Those damn food commercials on tv...The thick hot melting cheese on the pizzas. The crispy juicy fried chicken..... What do I want the most? A thick soft juicy cheeseburger....I thought I had said goodbye to my ex (food). But he just seems to be one of those that can't take the fact that we are through and keeps trying to creep back in my head. What keeps me going/ the fact that I've lost about 15lbs so far and that next week I can add in some soft foods to take that craving for "real" food away... Thanks to you my OH family for being here to listen and support me through this... Yes, I am finally a loser and getting into the routine of my new life.

I'm almost 4 days out and the water and protein remains a constant thing. I'm glad I don't work as I don't know how I would get it all in. I feel like I am always eating. I love water so it isn't a problem, except for waiting before and after eating. Glad you are doing so well. Dianna

Congratulations! Please keep us posted...I'm following in your footsteps (I'm 6 days post-op) and it helps me see people starting to feel normal. I am still having some significant pain, but it gets a teeny bit better everyday. Your post leads me tobelieve that by day 12, I should be feeling pretty decent...and that is very helpful. Keep up the good work - and forget those food commercials...they are evil, tempting us to do bad things to our bodies. You are worth so much more than that.

Hi Princess, I just wanted to give you more examples of people feeling normal again. I am about 6&1/2 weeks out and when I was only 5&1/2 weeks out, I went to Cedar Point and rode all the roller coasters except for the wooden ones. Dr. Needleman said I would be fine, but I choose not to ride the wooden ones since they are normally more herky jerky. Anyway, I did not feel any pain! If it were not for the small amount of food I can eat or the fact that I have to eat very slowly, I would not think anythng was different. Betina

Ahhh your words are like whispers from ANGELS!! 5 1/2 half weeks and able to do coasters...that puts it in clear perspective. That seems like a long time, but I knw that time goes by quickly. I just can't wait until I can lay down and get up without help, or walk even a short distance without my back aching. Thank you so much!!
