I would wear them SO HARD that I would roll an ankle, tip over, and smack my head SO HARD against the coffee table that I'd end up with a concussion.
(Why yes, I *did* turn down a WNBA contract because they couldn't afford to pay what my catlike agility is worth on the free market, why do you ask??)

I got Mono about a year ago (pre op) and it took me a solid 2 weeks off work before I even started to feel better. I was given meds while I was in the throws of the virus, but once it was in its way out, nothing. I also had hepatitis along with it (just the definition of the word: swelling of the liver, not the hep virus!!). I didn't get any more meds for that other than an antibiotic. This virus really is a "take care until it passes" sort of thing. She'll likely feel tired for a few more weeks. My immune system was sluggish for a few MONTHS afterward.

Wow, I hadn't heard that story! I knew about the children getting injured in the thread-winding machines in the early 1900s and how that led to child-labor laws, but I've never heard that one-- fascinating!

My mother was born with a port wine stain birthmark which covered half of her face. When she was a child in the '30s, her father took her for treatment where they used radium in an attempt to remove the birthmark. Didn't help her complexion or affect the birthmark.
Weird science.
