Deleting Posts -- WHY??
I have noticed that some people have been going through and deleting their posts all over the place. Why do people do this?? It is so irritating that they want to rewrite history. If you're going to post something, stand behind what you said!! Just OWN IT!! And BTW, you look like a complete asswipe when you have all these deleted posts in your posting history!!
Some general explanations for this bizarre behavior:
1. They are paranoid, delusional, and friggin' nuts about their previous posts.
2. Someone used their account to make idiotic posts and now they have to rectify the situation. (I've seen this lame excuse before!)
3. They have dissociative identity disorder and don't like what their other identities posted.
4. They are just plain ol' asswipes.
Discuss.

I vote for re-writing history ...
There have been some huge rows in recent years on here because OH "friends" would do this - I know a couple of people who were put on permanent moderation for pointing it out.
It's a pretty chicken thing to do - if you don't stand behind what you post - why post it? I'll also bet there has been some PM deleting going on too - you can bet your bottom dollar the recipient has kept all the nasty grams she's been sent ... not going to be able to rewrite that easily!!!!!
OWN IT, I say ...

If you're going to say something, you should do it with reason and foresight. Be a leader, not a sheep!
And if you have to say "I am not judging," or "not to sound mean but..." in your post? You probably shouldn't say it unless you're willing to have people tell you that you're being judgmental and/or mean. :)

So true. I also love it when people add 'no offense" knowing they are purposely offending someone.

Yes. Deleting is running away.
i have a really bad tendency to speak before thinking. And that applies sometimes to posts I write. But the adult way to deal with it is to add a sentence to the top saying " I got this wrong. Sorry, the following is untrue/unkind/misleading/offensive. Sorry". Otherwise, any replies make no sense. I am big on people accepting their errors and apologising. Hard to do, can mean you get flak. But it is being honest and grown up.

If you're a person with integrity and character, you don't try to erase your mistakes by trying to delete the "evidence." Only cowards try to rewrite their own histories.
OWN IT, I always say.
And BTW Amy, you need to add another option to the explanations - ALL OF THE ABOVE.
To disassociate yourself from your past comments is nothing short of cowardice and intellectually dishonest. It's the act of a SHEEPLE. Don't be one.

I say it is so when, and you know it is ONLY a matter of time, their postings get subpoenaed and brought to court (because you *know* OH has ALL of our posts, ever! or so I've read) for various real and/or perceived wrong-doings, certain, um, ahem, ladies, will be able to use a mental illness defense such as DID, early-onset dementia, alien takeover, Ambien usage, the vapors...
Or they're ass wipes and like to hit and run...say crap, let it stink stuff up for just long enough to linger in your sinuses, then clear it out - like a silent but deadly fart in an elevator!
