Mononucleosis
I got Mono about a year ago (pre op) and it took me a solid 2 weeks off work before I even started to feel better. I was given meds while I was in the throws of the virus, but once it was in its way out, nothing. I also had hepatitis along with it (just the definition of the word: swelling of the liver, not the hep virus!!). I didn't get any more meds for that other than an antibiotic. This virus really is a "take care until it passes" sort of thing. She'll likely feel tired for a few more weeks. My immune system was sluggish for a few MONTHS afterward.

I had mono several times in my teens. I was burning the candle at both ends, attending school, working 30+ hours a week and well being a teenager. I got very little sleep. The doctor didn't tell me to take any vitamins but he did get on me to get 8 hours of sleep a night. He said being tired and run down made me more likely to get it.
