Need New Phones, Any Advice?

Checked with him via email... The big advantage of the 805 is that it's capable of handling a 4k resolution. The Galaxy S5 has a 2k resolution (300ppi, same as an iPad retina, I think), but a 4k resolution would theoretically be about 820 ppi. It's still WAY off, but it's got a LOT of capability, and it should at least have the battery life to match.
The other big change is that memory bandwidth will be doubled, which means about a 15% speed increase in CPU-intense processes (switching between tasks, etc.) over the 801. That should theoretically enable it to handle 4G data speeds of double what's currently available, so there would be a lot more room for expansion.
Overall, the jump from 800 to 801 isn't much, but 801 to 805 is going to be a MAJOR jump. :)

Well, that makes the decision harder. Get new phones now and have tech envy in a couple of months when the 805 comes out, or wait. It's good info, either way!
Thanks for asking him, Julie, and please thank him for taking the time to answer.

I hate all things Apple. I think they are pretentious and produce phones that are no better than a droid but more expensive. They want to raise the price by 100 bucks for the 6 fyi. I just upgraded Sunday to the Samsung Galaxy 3 because I got it for .97 cents. It was pretty similiar to the 4. At Wal-Mart for Verizon they had the 4 for like 47 bucks as well. This phone is awesome and has lots of features. I have read that it is the phone most likely to compete with the Iphone and they have gained market share since they have been out.
Thanks for all the replies so far, guys. Anyone with or getting an HTC One who wants to chime in?

I'm an Apple fan, but actually just got my 1st iPhone. The only big plus I've noticed so far, is that it interacts well with my other Apple products. A top of the line smartphone is going to be pretty good no matter which one you get IMO.
I have noticed with my Apple computers that they last and perform at a high level for a longer time compared to windows computers I have purchased (plus less annoying updates). I haven't owned the iPhone long enough to say if that is the case with their phones as well.
You will always have to take reviews with a grain of salt because of the hard core Apple fanboys and the hard core Apple flamers. They definitely bring out extreme love and hate.

I'm not a great fan of Apple either. My husband is an Apple/Android programmer so he takes care of all my technological stuff which is a blessing because while I may be in my 20's I have the technological skills of my 70 year old mother.
Generally speaking my biggest complaint with anything Apple (from the laptops to the iphones (we've had several of each)) is the batteries never seem to last past 3 years. I'm not sure if this is the same as all such devices, it's just been my major gripe since you tend to pay far more for apple products.
Other than the battery lives, I give most apple products an okay (they are very user friendly for the people (like me) who have no skill with anything electronic.), especially since they started having the right click button.
Apple is probably coming out with larger screen iPhones this fall- http://appleinsider.com/articles/14/03/17/big-screen-iphone- 6-predicted-to-drive-massive-upgrades-draw-switchers-from-an droid-to-apple
I've used Apple for years now, and I think you get what you pay for. Having switched from PC system, I for one would never go back- Apple has been so much more reliable and safer, and you can run Windows if you need to on laptops and computers. Service and classes, which I haven't needed much, are unbeatable. Plus I also like the communication between devices- I have a 2009 laptop, rarely used now, an iPad I love and use all the time, and an iPhone 5.
So I'm an Apple fan.
