Food Stamps- Online Stores?
What? In no previous post (unless it was from when I initially joined the site in 2006 or something) have I ever said I was going to pay out of pocket for my surgery. I haven't had that kind of money in my bank account for well over two years. If you can show me where I have said that within the past six months, I'll eat my EBT card.
That post was from 2007! 2007! That would be two years ago. Really? You were that interested in my personal finances that you went back two years in my posts to validate your little argument? Yeah, a few months after that is when I lost my job. So, I've shot down your little "She has $8,000" argument. You think I would be on Food Stamps and Medicaid if I had that kind of money? In the past two years, I have had to give up my house, my car, family heirlooms, sold furniture, etc. just to get by. My current apartment is furnished with freebies from Freecycle and Craigslist. Yeah, I'm just living it up on my non-existent $8,000.

Yeah...I went alllll they way back (two posts before today). My complaint is exactly what you are saying. It said you were paying $8,000 and I am like then why the heck are you not buying food. Guess it would **** you off too. It is my bad, and i will apologize. I was only two posts before today, so it is not like it didn't just pop up on the first page. I am coole with medicare paying for it. It was thought of you sitting on $8,000 that was ******g me off.
I am not cutting down any type of assitance nor have I ever. But if someone is sitting on a pile of cash and getting assistance, you bet I am going to pipe up!

Exactly. At this point with my knee injury, asthma, and arthritis, WLS is deemed medically necessary. I cannot return to work without it- significant weight loss in a short amount of time in order to get my knee fixed is necessary. I'd rather look like a Shar Pei than have the extremely limited mobility I have now and to be stuck not working and living off of disability.
Well, I'm on Medicaid and they will pay for RNY if it's medically necessary. In my case, I have several comorbidities that qualify me for the RNY. If I had to pay for it on my own, there would be no way I could do it. In my current financial state, I wouldn't even apply to have the surgery financed even though I could likely get financed.
I think that as obese and formerly obese people who are seeking help on this site that placing additional judgement (in your case, I misunderstood and I apologize) on one another is simply not necessary or called for. I am one of those that has no problem speaking my mind when I have to, even when faced with judgement. Your response to my post may not have been meant to be judgemental, but it ceretainly appeared to be. It had nothing to do with responding to my post, which was about seeking some help in having groceries delivered. I wish you the best of luck in your journey.
