Food Stamps- Online Stores?

I think that there are requirements for accepting food stamps that the online retailers do not meet.  You can get protein as some grocery stores and at Walmart.  You can also check with local health food stores.  Why not email some of the online dealers and ask if they can take food stamps.

Do you know what it says about a person when they have to use food stamps?  It says that they have to use food stamps.  Nothing else.  We are all just a few paydays or an accident or illness away from being on welfare.

Keep you head up and use your surgery as a means to becoming more healthy.  As you get healthier I hope you will be able to find a job that you can do.  For now, just take good care of yourself.

I did some research and found this.

15. Can I use EBT for online SNAP purchases?

No. There are technical reasons why SNAP EBT cards cannot be accepted online at this time. EBT cards work like debit cards and the Personal Identification number (PIN) is the equivalent of an electronic signature; it guarantees that the person using the card is authorized to use it. Therefore, the PIN must be kept secret. When the PIN is entered online as part of a debit transaction, it is possible for others to read the PIN and use it to steal benefits. For this reason, online services are not currently willing to accept PIN-based transactions. The Internet is always evolving. In the future, there may be sufficient safeguards to allow secure PIN entry online, but that's not true today.

16. Can I have food delivered to my home?

Some stores have delivery capabilities. SNAP clients will need to contact the individual store to see if they will deliver and whether they have a means for collecting SNAP EBT benefits when the delivery is made. Stores may use a manual voucher system. A manual voucher can be completed and approved at the store, and then signed by the SNAP client when the food is delivered. Some retailers may also have wireless terminals which they can bring with them to the client's home delivery site.

You know what!! These negative and judging attitudes need to put themselves in other people's shoes before making comments! The economy is tough, people get injured and in my case, asshole men leave their families to fend for themselves. I went on medicaid and food stamps to make sure myself and my kids get what is needed to SURVIVE!! I picked myself up and had my surgery and going to college to better myself. NOT everybody wants to live on the system and damn sure not proud to have to do it!! I come from a working family and we do not sit on our butts and do nothing. I used to look down at the system and people for having to go that route thinking they were lazy but when things turned badly for me, I did what I had to do. If nobody out there likes it then they can take their snobby asses somewhere else to comment. I just hope they are never left helpless and needy because I do not wish this on my worst enemy.

Medicaid and Medicare pay for the surgery IF it is medically needed!! I needed it to live long enough to get my degree and be in the position to support my kids.

Thank you and Amen to that.  Once I have my WLS (which  I was supposed to get through Kaiser until I lost my job), I have to have my right knee replaced before I can be relased for work.  I have a four-year-old special needs son to raise.  I want to work and miss the satisfaction of knowing what I did (fundraising- mainly grantwriting) helped so many people who couldn't otherwise afford certain types of care for their strokes (I've also worked for City of Hope that treats a lot of cancer patients) and other health needs.  It's judgemental folks such as those who have posted here, that are very likely to reap what they have sewn.  I don't wish this feeling of helplessness on anyone.

I have no problem with any type of financial assistance, never cut on that a bit.  I was wondering why you would be on assistance if you can come up with $8,000 for WLS.  It is a lot of money.  If you have it, then you wouldn't need food stamps.  I am in support of helping out those in a time of need.  I would make the same comment if anyone on assistance was having liposuction, a boob job, or having their teeth whitened.

Again, I am not saying you do not need food stamps or financial assistance.  What ever it takes to take care of your children.

If we could come up with that kind of money then we would not need food stamps or any kind of assistance now would we?
