Topic: RE: Bariatric Program taking to long?????
Thanks for all the information, very informative. Yes I have 2 great protein shakes that my nut has approved would be great before and after surgery. I have quick drinking before and after meals. I am getting the VSG and I have researched this very well and feel this would be the best fit for me... the eating plans are the only thing that I am not 100% sure on yet. I have about 5 different ones.
Do you have any eating plans that you went by that you could share?
I'm trying to be patient.. just very discouraging when I feel like I was told one thing in the beginning and then another thing now.... I'm just trying to stay positive and staying busy so I am not turning to food in my time of stress..
This website has helped me tremendously thanks so much for all the info.. will keep you posted.

My 2 cents (for what it's worth):
Most journey's are 6 months plus.
Don't get upset - this isn't a quick fix. Use this time to research and learn.
Have you stopped drinking with meals? (at least a 1/2 hour before and after as well?)
Have you tried various various protiens?
Have you researched the surgery you want? Have you looked into the eating plans from various doctors for the surgery you want?
My hourney was 3+ years. But I used that time to learn a LOT about the various surgeries, and discovered I wanted something that most didn't offer.
Just be patient about this...it will happen....it's a journey after all...it will take time...anything worthwhile will take time to accomplish....

I'm sure everyone has felt the same way at some point in there journey pre-op. I started my journey in July 2011 and had my mind set on a October surgery date as long as there were no unknown medical issues come up. I have completely finished everything that is required of me pre op and my nut says wait 1 more month before i can even talk to my surgeon..
There is no reason for this and I am so upset that it is taking this long. I was trying to post a message here to see if anyone has any advice on this... I have been off work just to prepare and focus on my weight loss and will get back into my career once I have my surgery.
I was thinking of switching to another Program to have the surgery sooner.. I have Fidelis Care NY does anyone have any information on a surgeon that will accept this insurance and take all of the things that I have already done into count.
