Don't avoid the restaurants! Get some chix, burger with no bun or a nice salad! Mmmmm..

Enjoy your conference!

Good Morning fellow New Yorkers! Hope you are all staying warm and safe. Here there was some snow where I live.

I am in Washington DC killing my legs. As near as I can tell I have walked over five miles everyday. Good thing I have a comfy bed and lots of pillows here at my hotel. Oh, can't forget the Tylenol! I brought lots of low cal, high protein things to eat so I have been able to avoid restaurants. The conference that I am here for starts this afternoon, so I am taking it easy this morning.

Have a great day everyone!

Check the wording on that exclusion carefully. They way they are worded can be really confusing and make you think that it is not covered. Call them and verify. If you have other insurance options at work check them out too and if any of them cover it change when you can. Keep in mind that a company that covers it may havce a higher premium than you are currently paying and you may not be able to change until November (open enrollement month).

Its alot cheaper if you do it overseas in a foreign country...but its also alot riskier.  I would change jobs and hope they have it covered.  good luck!

Topic: Benefits/Financing Question

Hi All ~

I work for a company the has WLS benefits excluded from our coverage. So from my understanding, that is pretty much a non-option. I was just wondering how the majority of people pay for their surgeries? I sometimes feel like the only one who works for a bunch of creeps who doesn’t cover this. Do people take out loans? Borrow money? Change jobs?I am just kind of curious. I have hit a brick wall and feel like I was thrown out of the race before I even got a chance to warm up.Any information, suggestions or guidance would be greatly appreciated, I am so upset and feel so defeated, I just do not know what to do.

Thanks ~
Barb

Have any of you New Yorkers had experience with trying to get the VSG with Medicaid?

Is there an appeal process if only RNY or LapBand are approved?
