Surgery Date?
Ok guys! I've stayed away for awhile. Lifes been hectic. First off, my daughter, last thursday night (4 years old), got her finger closed in the sofa recliner 
. Well what looked to be a boo-boo needing a few stitched, turned into an emergency e.r. surgery to repair a dislocated finger and tendon rupture, which failed. They were not able to locate the tendon while in the e.r. so they stitched her and I followed up the next day with a plastic and orthopedic hand surgeon who was great. He performed her surgery yesterday, 4/12, and all went OK. They did find a fracture which caused her to now have 2 temporary pins in her finger for the next 6 weeks. She is doing better today, so I, of course, am much happier.

I have a tentative surgery date of 5/2 with pre-admssion testing on 4/20 
. I havn't told anyone because, those of you know, my insurance company s*cks and can make your head 
! Well anyway, to make a long story short, I called me surgeons office and she said my local said to send over the pre-certification papers so they were faxed over today. This is the first "positive" sign since January that the union has given, although I knew all along that eventually they would have to cover it.
I'm finally getting excited and saying to myself "Oh my god, this may actually happen in two weeks." I still have an uneasy feeling that something will get in the way and the union will have it postponed, but we will see. I will keep you all informed.

Hi Lisa,
What an ordeal! Was your daughter very scared? You must have been a wreck (I would have been!). I'm glad to hear she's on the better side.
I'm also glad to hear that you're making progress towards surgery. It's a long haul, this pre op period (I'm right there with ya'--surgery scheduled on 4/27)...but I hear it's worth it!!

OMG that is great hun, that is only a couple of weeks away.. That is a really good sign that they wanted the Pre-cert papers. 
Please keep us posted and I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers that you hear something SOON! 
Glad to hear your daughter is feeling better and so sorry she (and you) had to go through all of that! It is so sad when they are so young, sometimes they just don't know what is going on and that is scary of everyone....
