From what I was reading it is very healthy but if it tastes like something from my backyard, forget it then. NEVER in a million years would I think I would be asking about wheatgrass juice. haha. thanks! Tavia p.s I have gotten two cans down so far, only three to go! mazel tov to me! ha.

Hi Tavia, Wheatgrass juice is light but not sweet. I have tried it and it is similar to green tea but more earthy. I want to suggest that you try Jason Winter tea that you can get on line at SirJasonWinter.com You can make it and then mix it with anything you drink, hot or cold or drink it plain. It does taste like fresh hay so the mixing is necessary. Can you add sugar free ice cream to those prescription shakes you are trying to get down? What about mixing with frozen Crystal light popsicles so that it's more like a fruity shake? You are in our prayers - take care. Linda M

tavia I am a true fan of wheatgrass. It has a sweet kind of taste. It kind of reminds me of celery. it can be mixed with apple, carrot or any juice to "mask" the flavor if you don't like it too much. It is best fresh and has amazing antioxidant properties. I first learned about wheatgrass when I was trying to concieve my son and was amazed how great i is for you. I get a shot of wheatgrass usually every other day. It can be pretty pricey though espeically in the juice bars. If you like it and feel it is making you feel better you can easily grow it in yourhome. Good Luck Ally

Mazel tov on getting down two drinks is right! What's working for you? Wheatgrass juice, as was mentioned in another post is very high in vitamins, antioxidents etc, but not very caloric. If you're having difficulty tolerating food/drink, I imagine you'd want to get the most bang for your buck to put on weight and get good nutrition in one fell swallow. Once you're stablized from your ordeal and can tolerate more, maybe wheatgrass juice can enter in to your picture? Hugs, Amy

Boy, do I have a history with wheatgrass juice. A year and a half ago I spent three weeks in this place called OHI (Optimum Health Institute) a little outside of San Diego. People come there from all over the world... even some famous people! At the OHI, they feed you vegetables and 3X a week you get a fruit, and also different drinks made from natural sources. Everything is grown there, free of pesticides. I lost 20 pounds in three weeks. (And gained it all promptly back when I came home.) That being said, one of the prevalent parts of the diet there is that you are encouraged to drink 4 ounces of wheatjuice (that the clients press themselves) twice a day. It really is amazing stuff. But I've got to tell you, if it's done too often, it gets nauseating. Really nauseating. At first it was okay to me (like dirty grass, but the healing properties are amazing) but by the end of the three weeks I was doing my best to hold me breath and swallow it really quickly. But there were some people who couldn't keep it down. Not a pretty picture!
