Well my insurance company approved my surgery, however, my physicians office called and stated as Dr. Oh is no longer dealing directly with insurance companies they will need 6000.00 down! Are they nuts, I don't have 6000 laying around. I have a call into another doctor in the area he does not do open only lap, that's allright, they are looking into being the approval is already given just changing the doctor on record, please everyone keep your fingers crossed for me.

what do you guys think, will I have to start all over again with the new doctor or will they be able to roll the approval over to a new physician. I am obviously hoping for the later, will find out in the AM I guess but its all thats on my mind.

eileen- i went thru a similar thing. i had went thru 5 months of fulfilling my pre op requirements only to have my doctor stop taking my insurance. not only my insurance but pretty much every insurance out there. if you really want your current doctor i would speak to him personally, not his office, and ask him to take your insurance, this is what i did. not only did my doctor accept my insurance he wrote off the balance. good luck. donna open rny mar 18 2003 282/144/140

Good News! The new doctor, which by the way reviews are fab! has agreed to take me on as a patient and not only that will see me on Wednesday, my surgery date can be just around the corner, I have to call the old dr and get my records, I hope this isn't going to turn into a problem.
