Talked to my PCP last night
I had my physical last night. I'll have my blood and urine results next week. I already know I have high chol., hoping my blood sugar is ok. My EKG was good.
Anyway, I was so nervous about talking to my PCP about WLS. Towards the end of my physical, she says hop on the scale. I figure here's my opportunity. I told her I've been researching WLS. She asked me what I thought and we discussed that a bit. She told me that while she prefers that I lose weight the conventional way, given my family history of heart disease and diabetes and my own history of yoyo dieting and my co-morbities, she will support me if that's what I want to do.
We made plans for me to follow a diet (she likes Weigh****chers or the food pyramid). She wants me to follow 1600 calories a day, keep a diary of what I eat and weigh in with her once a month. She will give me anything I need that the surgeon or the insurance requires.
I'm so relieved. One piece of the puzzle is in place.
Sorry to ramble on.
