colonoscopy was a no go!

Hey everyone! Another looong story short. I did about half of the prep for the colonoscopy. I fainted for a couple of seconds not one, not two but three times. The third time I banged my head on wall in the bathroom. Ow. My husband took me once again to the er. My potassium and blood pressure were both low. It was just from the laxatives/prep and not eating anything all day. Once I got the potassium drips and a few bags of IV fluids I was fine. I so hate those potassium drips, icky. I can tell you that one of the worst places to have the runs is in the ER! Geez. I had to go every minute and half while dragging all of my drips/poles with me. I fell down once there and they didnt let me get up anymore after that. They made me use the bed pan. Yucky. I didnt get any sleep but at least I am out of there now. I am not stable enough to tolerate the prep for a colonoscopy right now. Have a great day everyone, at least its nice outside! Tavia

Hi Tavia-- Or should I start calling you Murphy--It seems that anything that can go wrong--does go wrong! Please talk to your doctors about giving you a break from all these tests-- --You need to rest a little from all these tests --You need a little time to get stronger. Oh my God!!!! You poor baby. Yes I know exactly how horrible those potassium drips are. I'm sorry. On a happier note, I'm going to be in Queens in Saturday. I have an appt. at 9:00AM for haircut and pedicure. I should be done by noon. Would like to try and have lunch or go and somewhere for coffee? Let me know. Joanne

Hi tavia, I had a colonoscopy last summer and also had alot of problems with the prep. I had the kind where you take 4 pills at noon, and then start the liquid prep later in the day. At about 1pm I started feeling really bad...by 1:30 I thought I was dying. It was caused from the 3 TYPES of SUGAR in the pills.....the worst dumping I ever had!! Just a warning to others.... Charl

Tavia, Another notch in your belt of problems...not to worry, you will get better; we are all pulling for you.. ps. I personally don't believe in Murphy's Law...being a murphy myself, but some of the laws are certainly true!!! for other people... Take care, rest, drink, and try to have some fun!!! Spring is here. Awww, Tavia, just getting a chance to check in here, wi**** went better for you! I hated my time there, I can't imagine having to go back so often.
