Mom suprised me with reaction
I wasn't going to tell my mom about starting the process for surgery yet for fear of her reaction. I decided the other day to tell her....I figured I could use all the support I can get. She reacted completely opposite of what I thought she would. She was actually happy and relieved. She didn't want to bring it up since she feels it is a "personal" decision not to be influenced by someone else. Go Mom!!

Hi Rachelle,
I think that's cool that you Mom's right there with ya to give her support.
I know I was nervous bringing it up to my Mom as well and was surprised at her reaction, too. I know I'm her only daughter and her baby and all, so I wasn't surprised that she brought up some cons, but she's there for me whatever I decide to do. So is my hubby. I love them both so much.
I know they'd be nervous for me, but they also know how important this is to me. I know my brother's, sister-in-law and nieces and nephews would be supportive as well. Talk about a support group. Between my family and friends here on the board, how can anyone go wrong.
I'm so glad things are going well for you.
Diane
