GETTING TO KNOW YOU!

Hey, can I join in even though I'm from Jersey? I got interested in the NY board since the surgeon I am researching is from NYU. Here goes. I'm 42 years old and live in New Jersey with my life partner of 15 years and our German Shephard, Troy. My "wife" if very supportive of the surgery and will accompany me to the required seminar at NYU. Although I know she's aware of the complications that could occur during surgery, she also knows that my health is on a downward spiral and I need help to get the weight off and keep it off. I have struggled with weight my entire life. My first diet was around the age of 12. First shot at Weigh****chers was at age 15. I've got up and down since then. I look forward to starting the WLS process and hoping that everything goes as smooth as possible. I'm happy to have found this board. You all have helped more than you could ever realize.

Hi everyone. This is the first night I'm doing a bunch of reading on this board. I've been on the LapBand board for months. My name is Susan (but I really go by Susie), I'm 46, married almost 23 years and have a daughter (19 and in college) and a son, 15. I just had LapBand surgery 3 weeks ago and I'm just amazed at how overnight my appetite has gone away. I keep telling my husband that it was surgically removed I haven't weighed myself since last week but lost 16 pounds in the first 16 days. I'm feeling great. I work as a Project Manager full time and commute to NJ 4 days a week since the account I support is located there. Hopefully I won't have to do that too much longer but I stay 2 nights in Westchester which helps a lot commute wise. Anyway, looks like a great group of people here and thanks, LisaMarie, for having such a great idea. Susie p.s. to Tavia - my daughter is down at Full Sail in Winter Park, FL studying film. She loves it also.
