Good morning guys,
Today I am off to PST at noon, which is a no big deal for me and a big deal at the same time. My electrolytes have been messed up lately. My pcp and myself have been working on getting them stable for weeks now. I think I am pretty much in the clear w/that but it still worries me. I do not want to have to postpone the surgery.
Considering I have done this song and dance MANY times before I am not scared or anything just keeping my fingers cross my labs come out fine. I was downing mushy banana like I was a monkey yesturday! I know I am going to hear an earful from the nurses over there b/c they all know me and my story...I know, its sad. One nurse told me every time they have a young bypass gadaleta/gellman patient coming in, she thinks of me. Gosh, I am THE black sheep.
But you know what, I know NOTHING has been my fault and I do not blame myself for anything...heck I don't blame anyone. The surgeon and his partner have been more than accommodating and compassionate towards me and my husband. I just want to move on w/my life already.
On the other hand, one of nurses is actually a RNY patient of Dr. Cooperstone. It's like a secret army. Hee-Hee. Everytime I see her she looks great.
Then I have to go by radiology to pick up copies of the film of my last upper GI series where I ate the toast. They told me they will be ready by 1:30pm but I do not believe them. I am expecting to be sitting around forever as usual. You know the nerve of that stupid hospital is going to charge me $10 for the copies, of course, like they dont have enough of my money.
I have an appt. w/the second opinion surgeon tomorrow afternoon and I want to bring the actual upper GI series for him to look it. If I want a "real" second opinion I want him to look at the actual film. My surgeon said this complication is very "unusual" so I want this surgeon to see what he is talking about. I know I have become the human guinea pig/zipper/pin cushion but what can I do but just go w/the flow and get this all over with.
So tomorrow I am off to the city, upper GI in hand, to see this other guy. Friday my husband and I are going to see my surgeon and his partner to go over everything. The surgeon says he has a "list" he wants to talk about...oh boy, a "list".
So then comes the big day on Tuesday!
Anyway wish me well on the labs today! I believe I am going to be running around like a chicken w/my head cut off the next few days getting everything in order around here so I will not be on the board. I'll write you guys before I go in on Tuesday of course! Love you guys and take care!

Thanks so so much you guys, you guys really are great!!
I just called radiology and they told be it will be $10 a sheet and they said they are looking at 20 sheets so far. No I do not think so. This hospital is working on my last nerve here.
This is requiring a call to the surgeons coordinator.
Thanks again everyone!
