Need Stage 2 (Puree food Suggestions)
Hey Lou,
Welcome back!!! Hope you're feeling good. Here are a few ideas.
Part skim ricotta cheese mixed with a little tomato sauce
Stallone protein pudding
Buy one can at Vitamin Shoppe to see if you like it. If so, you can get it really cheap at www.drugstore.com. It's $1.99 for a 4-pack. I really like it and have it for breakfast every morning. I like it and I think Deb does too.
I wish you the best and quick recovery.
Joanne

Hi Louis,
I am glad to see you have back. I know the feeling all too well to be in pain and forcing yourself to eat. Me and you both, you know. I can suggest egg drop soup. I am eating that like crazy and its almost "normal" food, not too boring. If the egg chucks are too thick, try pureeing them in w/the broth so they dont get stuck. I also enjoy the stallone pudding, my three year old son eats it like its jello pudding!
Just curious why are you on stage 2 when you just had your surgery on the 7th? Hope you feel better soon, Louis! Take care.

Louis,
Hello hun ~hugs~ I am so glad you are home and on the losing side. I know right now you are still hurting some but know it WILL get better, trust me on that one.
I had to really use the shakes in order to get my protein in but it will be replaced with food soon. I LOVE the stallone pudding from the drugstore.com site or you can go to GNC but it is more money. I wish I would have know about that pudding from the beginning.
Cottage cheese was a great thing also to help and the carb smart/control yogurt is good to.
Well if ya need anything just call me, you or Lisa should have my numbers. ~hugs~

Louis-
You're only a week out, there is NO way you can get all the protein in yet. Thats okay. Your primary concern right now is to make sure you stay hydrated. If its painful to eat pureed foods then go back to liquids. Soups and yogurts, and such. Try protein drinks if you can, just take everything slow. Your pouch needs time to heal. Welcome to the losing side!!!!

YOUR very fortunate if your one week out and on puree but every surgeon is different. STAGE 2 foods for me was adding milk based products....protein shakes, SF pudding...things like that .
ANYWAY..my favorite pureed dish was LO fat ricotta cheese, Lo fat mozzerella cheese and a teaspoon of tomatoe sauce and microwaved.
IT was like a noodless lasagna!
YUMMY!
I also enjoyed homemade chicken salad where i used a small electric chopper and chopped up my chicken and celery very finely. ALSO ate campbells cheddar broccoli soups but put them in the blender for no chunks.
HOPE that helps
LISA
