Hi everyone My name is Lorraine. I am single and 53 years young.I live on Long Island. I had my WLS, RNY on 12/15/03. I weighed 245 lbs on my day of surgery and suffered very bad diabetic complications. Just wanted to say and make some New York friends
I now have lost 115 pds. I now weigh 130 lbs and I am at "Goal"
Drop a line and I will also.
Lorraine
Welcome Lorraine, and congrats on getting to goal and maintaining your weight.
I live in Farmingdale and I go to the support group that meets at Mercy every 2nd tuesday of each month. You should come and join us if you can. We start at 7:00pm.
I had my WLS on 1/17/05 with Dr Garber. I had no complications and came throught the whole procedure with flying colors I am now down 55lbs and I am half way there. I am very excited to finally be getting down to normal sizes and being able to walk w/o being winded.
Once again welcome and come back often
Hugs Chris

Hi Lorraine,
It's nice to see you posting again. It sounds like you are doing well. I don't post often, but I do read the board almost every day.
I am losing weight, but at a slower rate then most people I see on here. Some days it bothers me, but for the most part, I am very happy. I have always been a slow loser. But this time the pounds are going to be gone forever, I will not fail. The weight is going to come off, regardless of how fast or slow.
I have so much more energy, people say I am actually glowing! This is a very exciting new chapter in my life!
Keep posting Lorraine, don't be a stranger! I remember you always had lots of good advise for the newly post ops.
Take care.
Gail
