PS denied--Now what?

UHC in NYC denied my request for a lower body lift. Does anyone have any ideas as to how to get them to approve it? Thanks. Susan in NYC

I would assume you appeal, but you need to find out from your insurance company if they even cover ps if not then it is a self pay if they do and it must be medical needed than you can fight it and get the doctor to say it is... I wish you luck Christine

Susan BC/BS would only pay for the tummy tuck part of my lower body lift, they said the skin on the sides and back are for cosmetic looks only so I had to pay for that part myself. I tried to get the upper body lift done but was turned down because of lack of documentation so I am in the process of doing that now with going to the Dr every month to complain of rash's and pain. Did your insurance company tell you why they said NO to the lower body lift? If you need any info let me know. Tony
