Hey, I have a question for Dr. Posner and Dr. Forbes patients.... If you had the LAP R-n-Y... How long were you out of work, or how long did they suggest you would be out? I have my revisit on May 18th, where hopefully I should be ready to get on the surgery schedule. I'm concerned however about my job situation. I currently have COBRA because my new job's benefits haven't kicked in yet. I just learned that because my new job isn't covering me yet, I could potentially lose my job if I have to be out for an extended period of time!!! (because I don't qualify for FMLA yet) So, I'd like to know how much time you were/are out so I can give my boss a clear picture of what's going on when I tell her. Thanks!!!!!!

Donna, I had Dr. Caruana for my surgery but I work in a clinic with many GB patients, Lap RNY patients can usually return to full duty after about two to three weeks usually, depending on their job. I had open and was back in the office in 5 weeks, but actually could have gone after three weeks but had the time coming so what the heck, I took it. Good Luck, Lori 351/267/130
