What's up with my Thyriod???

Hi All, I'm a little confused... I went to get my prescription for my thyriod at the docs yesterday and she asked me to come in and see her. I have a underactive thyriod and it has been at a good level for a long time, so anyway I go in and she asked me if I was feeling o.k. I said yeah why..she told me my levels where a little lower than they should be, so she was going to up my med. a little. Now, my question is because my levels where lower does that mean it's more underactive? Also I thought that when I was heavier I would need more meds, now I'm down over 100 pds and am on a higher dose??? UGHHHHHHHH....i'm sooooooooo confused!! Karry 311/199/165 goal

Karry, Hello hun, I also suffer with Hypothyroidism but I am still pre-op....I know that when my Dr said it was low that means it was slower, so yes it sounds like you would need more meds, that is weird huh, I would also think that the meds would have to be lowered after surgery. Unless your not absorbing enough so that is why it needs to be raised, does that make sense? I bet that might be it hun.....well that is what I would think...... I wish you the very best and I am sure I will have to face that same road soon after surgery...... Take care and keep me posted Debra P
