Childcare info?
Hi everyone! I have my sleep apnea test tonight, kind of a little nervous but this is the last of my testing..... I'm excited but now getting nervous. I spoke to my dr and he said that after they get the results of the sleep study they will submit my info to the ins co and it could take a few weeks to be approved. They dont think it will be a problem and told me that I can have a date as soon as the end of this month to the beginning of May... My biggest fear is my daughter... she's 14 months old and I was wondering how long it takes once I get home from the hospital before I can take care of her by myself without any help.... I hate asking for help and dont want to take advantage.... to top it off my husband doesnt drive.... so I would have to make sure I have everything I need before I go in....

Gia,
Hun all will go well tonight and do not worry about that.....~hug~....
that is exciting that all is done after this.... I know how you are feeling because when it comes closer I will feel the same way though I do not have kids to worry about...... Please take the time you need to recover and let your friends and family help you through this time. We all need to be able to take some help from time to time....I know it is hard to take when you are used to giving.......Hubby and I had to learn that after our house fire and we needed some help......
Take care hun and I wish you well..

Hi Gia
I had lap RNY, my surgeon said it was ok to lift approximately 30 pounds, I have a 3 year old & 2 year old I would say within a week I was back to lifting them pretty regularly. It wasn't that bad. Initially I couldn't so I had them climb onto things and sit with me. You will be surprised how you can adapt.
Good Luck, Tina
WOW your running on the same schedule as me i get my cardio reports on the 5th of April all things are complete. My surgeon just applied to my insurance and from there is my date too! I am hopeing for an early MAY procedure!!!! GOOD LUCK!!! I too have a toddler and hope i can get to lift him soon after surgery too ,,,guess everyone is different.....i worry the same as to how long till im on my feet and working. I run a family daycare business in my home an the parents need me back as ASAP! GOOD LUCK TO YOU......
Gia-
You and I have the same concern in regards to childcare. My daughter is four and I'm a stay at home mom. Now my surgeon said I can't lift anything over 25 pounds. Unfortunately my daughter is 40 so she'll have to climb into my lap but avoid my stomach at all costs. He said it's like explaining to them you have a owie and even show them it so they see the visual and understand. Thankfully my katy is old enough to fend for herself for the most part so I won't have to do much..However, my husband is taking a week off work after the surgery to get me through the first week and then I should be okay so says my surgeon. So I have someone then, just find out what he recommneds with the weight limit of picking up. Take your time in recovering though, ask friends to come by and help during the day and what not. I'm taking full advantage of my in-laws and friends here, since all my family is in Arizona. So let them help you out.
Good luck to you, and God bless.
