Hello All,
I was wondering is the pain from the lap WLS worse then the lap from the gallbladder surgery? I would think it would be but they also use gas to bloat ya up. I have my gallbladder removed in 1993 and that was when they firist started doing them that way, well close to the start from what I heard....
Any input would be greatly appreciated.....
Take care
Debra

Debra,
I had lap gall bladder surgery in 2002. My lap roux-en-y was 3/11/05. Yes, the pain in worse, probably because they keep you blown up longer. I did not find it to be horrible though, I needed a pain shot in recovery and medication for nausea, a pain pill the evening after surgery, then just tylenol after that for a couple of days. Two weeks out tomorrow, my only complaint is I still get tired. Wish you well!

I had my gall bladder removed 16 months after my lap rny, by the same surgeon. The gall bladder removal was a piece of cake for me. I stayed in overnight, but the next morning I got up, took a shower and got dressed. My sister came to get me, and we walked out together. She carried my overnight bag and we walked 2 blocks to the car. I rested that day, but my husband and I went out to dinner with friends the next night. I happened to be off from work that week, but to tell you the truth, I bet I could have been back to work after 2 or 3 days after surgery. I think the pain from the attack itself, comes in 3rd, after the rny pain and the TT pain. I understand though, that everyone is different. Good luck!!
