update re: sick

Thanks to all those who posted and prayed. I called my primary and told her I couldn't keep the liquid meds down. She had me go back to her office and get a shot in the behind. I have to go to get another one tomorrow AM. Dr. Cole called me to see how I was doing. I explained above. He asked if I was getting liquids down which I haven't been able to do in 2 days. I am to try to take tiny sips of fluids. If they don't stay down by tomorrow, I have to call him back and to the hospital I go. So prayers are still needed. Thanks to all. Sorry I can't message everyone individually, but right now I am in so much pain (back, legs, stomach) that this is the best I can do. Hubby is being very supportive :0) I just love this man! Terri

(((Terri))) I sincerely hope you are feeling better soon... Glad to hear you got a supportive hubby there with ya too! That always helps for sure... Keep us posted on how you're doing and I'll be saying a prayer for ya hon!! Chelle

Chelle, Thanks so much. I'm feeling somewhat better. Still have a bit thingy hanging in my throat, but able to get liquids and now the medication down. I am drinking enough to prevent going to the hospital. Probably not enough as I should, but at least getting it in. Terri

Terri, Sorry to hear you are so sick. I have had days like that too, but as bad as I don't want to keep throwing up, I keep poking the fluids down. I know how you feel though. Dr. Cole is a wonderful man, he will make sure that you get to feeling better. I had Dr. McKane for a surgeon, but I dealt with Dr. Cole as well. I am hoping and praying for you that you won't have to go back into the hospital though. I will be praying for you. I hope as well that your constant and severe pain stops soon as well. Sara, Thanks so much. Things are much better. I went for my second antibiotic shot today. Tonight i was able to get in some liquid antibiotics. My throat doesn't hurt as bad, however, the hanging down thingy is still bothersome. Take Care, Terri

Glad you are not wasting any time and called your dr. even though she gave you that shot in the behind Don't forget to call your surgeon today, he is concerned about you being dehydrated. Hi Alice, Thanks so much for your kind note. I had to go to the doc again for another shot in the butt. i was told to start taking the liquid Keflex again tonight. i took a dose and have thus far kept it down. Dr. Cole had wanted to put me in the hospital if i couldn't get liquids down. thanks to prayers, i was able to get sips in last night (added to 1cup) and then today was able to get liquids in. i have not thrown up at all today! the throat does not hurt so bad right now, however the hanging down thingy in my throat is still huge and is very frustrating. continued prayers are needed but also praise for progress so far. Thanks again for your note and kind words. i have noted since I have been part of this site, that you are always so kind hearted and welcoming. you have certainly been an inspiration and i always look forward to your posts. Terri~~ Glad to hear that your starting to feel better!! I guess those shots in the butt are helping you! Keeping those liquids down and not will keep you hydrated and out of the hospital. Being one month and one day post-op is hard enough......than you got so sick Please make sure you also get plently of to help keep your strength up and help your body fight this off. Hoping tomorrow is a better day for you.

Terri, Sorry you are so sick! I will be praying for your quick recovery. My husband just went through the same thing-but of course hes not post op!But, being a man he was a HUGE BABY!! It's easier to take care of sick kids. Good luck, Betty-Jean
