WOw I wish I had an answer for you. Sad to say I'm up to real foods now and I still find it very hard to eat. Best of luck with that

I've had things like salads from the fast food joints with chicken... Always eat your protein first tho... My dietician said salads are a good bet when eating out... At Wendy's, the chili is good and is full of protein... This usually goes down pretty easy too... Taco Bell - pintos and cheese... I just try to stay away from the breaded stuff now as it makes me sick... On the chinese, so far I've had no luck there... I get sick every time I attempt it... I tried sesame chicken and within 10 mins I was ... Not a pleasant thing for sure!! If you do decide to try chinese food, stick with unbreaded, unfloured stuff... Also with Chinese you really gotta watch cuz they add MSG (some places do) and that can make you sick as well... Oh yah and lotsa sugars in the sauces too... Basically I just avoid it all together now... You can always give it a try... Some can tolerate things while others cannot... Give it a whirl and see how it goes when you are able to try more foods and don't have to puree anymore... Good luck!!! Chelle -62

I have troubles eating out quite often, as things don't seem to always agree with me. The things I found to work best, are chili, and salads. I don't seem to have a problem with Chinese food though. I love chicken and beef with broccoli. Sara

If you really think things through, you can eat almost anywhere. Some places aren't the ideal, but you can usually manage. For Chinese, if you are truly dedicated, you can have steamed chicken or shrimp with veggies, and ask for the sauce on the side and dip into the sauce, OR use the soy sauce for a bit of flavor. At a pizzeria you can get a cold antipasto with the dressing on the side, like a chef salad, sorta. Another thing is to get a piece of veggie or other topped pizza with chicken or ricotta cheese on it and eat the topping off. The biggest temptation is to not make a responsible choice and just go for whatever the place is serving. I don't dump and have a cast iron pouch most of the time, so I have to watch myself or I can easily put on a few pounds like this. I recently went with my son to Sizzler. We had coupons and just HAD to get the good deal. Well, I picked my way through the greasy, mayo loaded salad bar, and ended up taking the meal home. It caught up with me. I just felt really yukky the whole night. Just not worth feeling crummy like that.
