Lean Pockets Ultras - Is this over stuffing the pouch??
Hi NYers!
How is everyone doing??? I hope all is well... Life for me has been so hectic since I've had a loved one in the hospital for the past week... She was just released today so we're pleased!!!
I have a question about eating Lean Pocket Ultras Meatballs & Mozarella with the whole grain crusts...
The information on the box says:
Calories 200
Total Fat 6g
Total Carbs 19g
Dietary Fiber 7g
Sugars 4g
Protein 24 g (that seems good?)
My question is: Do you think that at 3 months out I should be able to eat a whole 1 of those pouches???? Because I was able to eat a whole one which for me was about 8 cuts with my fork... I plan to ask my nutritionist on Thursday if this is ok but I went ahead and tried them today... I feel pleasantly full on one and so far no ill side effects... Now I am kinda worried if this is overeating or if my pouch could be stretched by this????
I notice I have days where I am able to eat more at a setting like today for instance while other days I can only eat a little... I'm just kinda freaking out about it!!!
What do you all think?
Thanks!
Chelle
Hi Chelle
Sorry to hear you had a loved one in the hospital, now she is home and on the road to recovery, I hope she stay's well...
As for the pockets I'm not sure if they are good for you but I can tell you this...I too can eat more on some days than others and I think it is normal... and I have the micro pouch it is the size of a grape...
But do consult your Doc...
Good luck sweetie....

Wow! That is a small pouchie... Mine is not that small I don't believe... They told me I should be able to eat 2 medicine cups of food - 3 times a day... I see that others eat more times a day than I do tho (I've seen some who eat 6 times a day)... I am not to have any snacks between my meals per the surgeon & dietician... Sometimes this whole WLS thing is confusing when you ask for advice and everyone has had a different procedure or different rules...
I plan to consult the dietician at my 3 month post op appointment Thursday and see what she says... I just thought if I was allowed to eat those once in a while it would be great and soooo convenient...
Yup she's on the road to recovery now... We're glad she's back home and no more running to the hospital every day now... YAY!!!
Take care!
Chelle
Don't get me wrong Chelle, I like to eat and in some sittings still I think I eat to much cause sometimes I never feel full.....My pouch is small, but I still eat not like I use to but I don't feel full.....I though I was eating to much so I call the doc's office as long as I eat protiens and take my vitamin they said I wasn't eating to much which that was a relief cause you know I thought I was going to failure even with the surgery....and I know we all go through it at one time or another.....but what are you gonna do....follow your doc's instruction and hope for the best....
did they say why not snack or why you can't have 6 mini meals.....what about protien drinks inbetween meals to help with being hungry or back to basics with broths inbetween.....this is just thoughts that you can ask your doc....I hope it helps......

Chelle, aren't they good!!!! I had surgery 8/30/04, and I am one who can eat anything and everything without a problem. Somedays I can eat a horse, other days, next to nothing....weird, it's that? I have learned that you really can't overeat with the pouch, because the pouch can only hold so much, you will get the signal to stop, although some have told me when they get to the point of eating too much, and take that extra bite or two, they make themselves vomit...something I would NEVER do. I have also learned when to stop eating before that uncomfortable, full feeling sets in, and you will too. I have also learned that the slower I eat, and the more I chew, the more pleasant the meal is, and sometimes the more I can get in.
What I am trying to say is, everyone is different, and you will learn what works for you.
Wishing you a happy journey,
Susan
Yessss I love em!! Even pre-op I loved those... I'm glad to hear I am not the only one who goes thru eating spells... Some days I am just more hungry than others...
I was told to wait 5 mins between eat bite and to chew chew chew... And I do all of that each time I eat... I don't think I always wait the 5 mins but I try... Also another rule I am to follow is no drinking for at least an hour after eating or before eating... I can do the after part but the before part I don't follow as closely because I am trying to get in all my fluids... I'm not doing too bad tho although I feel my weight loss is slow...
Thanks for the well wishes!!
Chelle
