Hey there Maria! Sorry to hear what is happening to you Listen I don't mean to get personal but if you are around that time of the month usually you will gain a few pound but when you are finished the weight goes away again (well for me that's what happens) Don't get so down Maria it will be ok. Keep calling the Cori Center and see what they can tell you have you spoken to youre nutrishonist (didn't spell that right ) maybe she/he can tell you something. Please keep us posted on what's going on. Here are lots of {{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}} and 's please keep your chin up.
I want you to know it was so good to see you at the meeting I believe we all had a great time on Saturday don't you! Have a great day and keep smiling it will all work out!
Love ya Evelyn

Hi Evelyn
Thanks for the love.
I'm really hoping it's "my friend" and not because I'm doing something wrong. When I ask my sister. Well... as for late I really can't talk to her. She has been a very bad mood and I'm just staying clear from her as much as I can. Which is hard to do in this house.
I'm just getting alot of bad vibes. Plus I have some people on this block that just having a feild day trashing my good name.
You know, I try to not to let those things get to me. But I'm only human and sometimes little things just hurt.
I could totally understand if I was a bad person. But I'm not a bad or mean person.
I don't know. I'm just down and even though I'm trying to keep my mind busy by posting and looking for work. It seem the blues want to stay on top of me.
I just keep hopeing for the best. After all it can't last forever.
BTW I had a really good time meet you all and shopping with everyone. I can't wait do it again.
What is the source of your statistics?
These are the rates from the American Society of Bariatric Surgeons.
ww.asbs.org/html/rationale/rationale.html
Mean percent excess weight loss at five years ranged from 48 to 74 % after gastric bypass. In a study of over 600 patients following gastric bypass, mean percent excess weight loss still exceeds 50% at fourteen years. Another 10 year follow-up series from the University of Virginia reports weight loss of 60% of excess weight at 5 years and in the mid 50's between years 6 and 10. Multiple other authors have reported 5 and 6 year follow-up of their patient series with similar weight loss results. Weight loss usually reaches a maximum between 18 and 24 months postoperatively.
Hi Maria ... Stay off the scale for now; it will only mess with your head. Even "normal women" may see a weight fluctuation of up to five lbs a day depending on their TOM or water retention. It's perfectly normal.
However, in your case, you body is getting over the fact that you had the surgery and a little gain or stall is perfectly normal. Do not starve yourself; make sure you're getting in at least 600 cals a day consistently or your body will "hug" and absorb every little bit of everything you take in (go into starvation mode).
Don't stress it ... There's little you can do to screw up your surgery at this point as long as you're not drinking soda and milkshakes all day long.
Thank you everyone for answering this.
I'm avoiding the scale. As much as I want to jump on it. But like everything else it's just hard to do. From what I gather there are many reasons for the weight gain and not lost as for now.
However I am not happy about it.
But I know it will come off.
As for now I'm trying to keep myself busy with looking for work. Hopefully in the next two weeks I'll have a new job to go with the new me.
Talk to you later
Much
Maria
Maria,
Waiting for the scales to drop is extremely frustrating. I know so well since I have posted several times my disappointment with them these past few weeks.
All of a sudden I got on them today and lost 4 pounds. It is really weird what our bodies do. We can't really control it as long as we are doing what is right.
Getting obsessed about them doesn't help - I think I am preaching to myself here too. I've been trying to find other things to do until I can go back to work.
Take care and God Bless, It will come off in time
Terri
