My Lap Band surgery went very smoothly, at NYU Medical Center, NYC on 2/11/05. I am a bit disappointed in the office staff though, because I don't feel that I am getting my questions answered correctly or in a caring way. I know they are all overworked and very busy, but..... I have started the pureed form of food ingestion. I never thought that I would crave a spoonful of egg salad, but it was delicious. I am having a problem with diarrhea every day, which is not something they ever mentioned. I was told to take Immodium. That helps. I am now wondering how the band is healing in there. I would love to talk with someone who is near or just finishing this part of the program. Thanks. PG

Hi - I had open RNY in January, but thought I would pass on a recipe I used to get me through the pureed stage. I cooked a meatloaf and then put some of the cooked ground beef in a blender with some canned stewed tomatoes. It tasted delicious - just like spagetti sauce. I lived on that and water packed tuna which didn't really need pureeing, it was already mushy enough. Good luck. Lynne

Hi PG~~ Just keep calling until YOU get all your questions answered!! You also need peace of mind. Please don't put it off, especially if you are having diarrhea every day. You have to be very careful of dehydration....keep sipping water all day long. Post again and let us know how your feeling! Alice

Thank you Lynn, Alice, and Christine. I have an appointment with the Nurse Practioner tomorrow. I will tell him about the "office attitude". Thank you also for the meatloaf recipe..
