You guys! I got a date!!!!
I am freaking out and dancing around right now. OMG!!!! I can't believe this! It is finally happening for me. Joann called me at 6:00 tonight while I was eating dinner and scheduled me for Wednesday March 23!!! 26 days away!!
I thought I was going to have to wait the whole weekend and then she would call me monday! She is going to call me with the details of what I have to do before the surgery and things.
Thank you all so much for your support! I can't wait to be a loser!
P.S. My hubby is happy for me that I got a date, but he is very worried about me having surgery. any advice on how I can make him feel better about all this?
Much love to you all!!
Stephanie

Congratulations. That is wonderful I am so happy for you and I know you are really excited. I bet you are jumping with joy.
I will keep you a spot on the loser's bench next to me. You follow me by nine days. We will see you on the losing side.
As far as your hubby, when you are scheduled for your last appointment before surgery, have him go with you so he can hear exactly what is going to happen and is prepared for after the surgery. I know Dr. McKane's nurse asks if you are married and tells you your spouse should come with you.
Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.
Brenda
Congratulations and best wishes on your surgery. It will be the best thing you ever do for yourself! I had mine on 12/3/03 and have lost 135 pounds. People actually call me skinny now! OMG I have never heard those words directed at me before in my whole life. I am very happy for you and if I can help you in anyway please feel free to e-mail me anytime. Take care and be well. Linda

Your plan sounds excellent
Plan A: We are already being supportive and encouraging to each other.
Plan B: We are making plans to meet at the group meeting
Plan C: In the works
Plan D: In the near future
I can hardly wait for Stephanie and me to get on the losing bench with you.
Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Congatulations on your date! Its an exciting thing!
As for the hubby thing goes...when I first told him he did not like the idea at all he even said that I don't want you to do it, but I explained to him how I felt about it, and he know how long I have been dealing with my weight issue along with the attempts to lose.
Since then I have been talking to him about all the time, he has read the book...Finding the thin person hiding inside you, by Barbara Thompson...which explains sooo much!! (I highly suggest everyone that is considering WLS to get it...it was my Dr office that told me about it)
He has also come to talk to Dr Cole which was so helpful to him! I also bring him to this site to read about other people and thier experiences.
He is still nervous about it, because its surgery, but is so supportive now! He even got excited when we got our "tenative" date.
So...the more you can include your husband in this journey, the more he might want to be involved in it, at least thats what I have noticed...hope I was able to help a little...

Tara,
I think it helps to show the before and after pics too. It's amazing. That's what helps keep me going sometimes is seeing real life people that did it.
Are you going to the Arnot meeting on March 7th at 6pm? I'm planning on meeting Stephanie and Brenda there. Would love to meet people who chat on here too.
