9 Days Post Op
I am 9 days post op from the lap band surgery and am having trouble with the 3 shakes a day. I've already added some things to jazz it up a little, like cinnamon, bananna, PB... Today I couldn't do a shake all day so I had some soup..But I found that I was able to eat 1.5 cup of the broth with a little of the veggies that come in the can, but I didnt have this signal to tell me STOP...so I finished cause I was full...I will now do the shakes again as the MD ordered. But, I am wondering why I was able to eat so much of it? And, not get this signal to stop? Anyone have any comments...??..??
Jessica, I had the same trouble when I was on the clear liquid diet I never felt full.....now that I am on regular food it doesn't take much to full me up.....your body is going through changes and your mind needs time to catch up......
wishing you the best and all success in your journey..
Christine
Jessica,
Most people dont get a "full"feeling until 1-2 months out. Nerves have been severed, etc, which will cause delay of feeling that sensation. But stop anyway at recommended portion...it's very important. My recommended portion at almost 1 month post op is 1/2 cup (or 6 oz) total...pre measure your food...then walk away satisfied...dont wait for the full feeling....it WILL come in time...give your body a chance to heal. Best wishes,
Take Care,
Roxanne
