Hello...I'm a newbie

Hello fellow New Yorkers! I found this website back in Jan., but didn't sign up until last week. I read through many of the boards and am getting really encouraged by all of the experiences. I have put together a profile and hopefully will be updating it frequently...keyword HOPEFULLY Ü. I go this friday for my final visit before they submit my information to the insurance company. I was wondering if there are any other patients that share the same Doctor as me... I go to Dr Cole in Horseheads...anyone else? Well, I feel like I am starting to ramble so Ill end it here... again hello all and I am looking forward to this journey together!

Hey Tara! Dr. Cole is my friend Stephanie's Surgeon. She just got back from a loooong trip and hasn't posted on this board in awhile. I'm sure you will meet her. There are others that I have met that are patients of Dr. Coles. He was my first choice surgeon for RNY but "switched" surgeons (pun intended!) becuase I'm having the Duodenal Switch instead. I've heard good things about him. You are in good hands! Good Luck with your insurance company. I hear Dr. Cole's office handles all the ins and is really good with it!

Hi Tara, Welcome to the board! I am REALLY new to this board myself but know how GREAT everyone has been about emails and such. I have spent my time addicted to the board while passing time waiting for the next step, then the next....a better way to pass the time than eating...making good friends while waiting. I have a tenative date of March 18 pending final approval from IC. (they preapproved so shouldn't be a BIG deal). Anyway, you are in my prayers for an awesome journey! JK
