Hi Pam
It is difficult to do the clear liquid diet but you must do it get chicken broth and sugar free jello and eat that only also sugar ice pops, you have to stick to your doc's plan you have gone through the surgery and that is not enough you must follow it through....ok you ate your cheese now get back on track with your diet, remember this is a tool and you must use it wisely.....
Good luck....
Christine
Pamela~~
Please--today is a new day--but you must get back on your drs food plan now. Just stay focused and remember why you put yourself through major surgery. You did your research and know that this is a total lifestyle change---not a diet!!!! For some the first weeks after surgery are very hard. Your pouch is still healing and you must give it time. Being depressed is normal after surgery, BUT call your dr and let them know, you might need some meds to help you. Water is very important right now, so just keep sipping all day long.
Call your dr again this morning and discuss how he wants you to get in your protein. Then do it, a little at a time and it will increase day by day.
Please your only a week out and need your dr help. Post again and let us know what he said and how your doing.
Pam - the first thing that you have done is to recognize that you are making bad food choices. I was the same way a month or so after the surgery - I was eating KFC chicken, mash potatoes, and even cole slaw - though not alot..but when I found I was making the same old bad habits I decided to change. So next step is to change that and not get depressed about it. Cheese is good for you but not at this stage of the process..stay on the liquids..crystal lite, milk, chicken or beef broths, anything you can get down..a little bit later you can go back to the cheese slices etc and more things. Remember you did this to improve your life and not make it like you are restricting or depriving yourself. You have to follow through or you can put yourself in danger, my dear. As you stated you want to be there for your son so you have to follow "the rules" of this process for your own good. You must "submit" to the pouch or you will have consequences (pain, discomfort etc) as it happens to all of us - and this is not a bad thing. We are trying to encourage you to do the right thing - "para tu mismo bien, chica". Wishing you the best of luck and encouragement. When ya start seeing and feeling those lbs drop off then it will make sense.
