Well here is what I did - doesn't mean it will work for everyone but just some suggestions. 1. Anything you bring will be too much as far as I found. I brought a set of comfy pjs ( didn't use) and my bathroom necessities ( used very little the hospital had the basics for my use). OH going home clothes - loose and comfy!! 2. I really did not have to do anything to the house before I left, just made sure it was clean, laundry and dishes done so I did not have to come back to a mess. Once I was home I got around quite well - and my recliner was my place to be for comfort. 3. I have worn nothing but lose and comfy clothes. Most of the time, if I know I am not going out, I stay right in my PJs. The less pressure on my tummy the better I feel. I had the opne RNY. Lounge pants are great and shirts that are not to restricting since your incision and tube sights are super sensative. 4. It is really up to you and your doctor. When I left the hospital I was on Stage II of his "WLS Bible"- Low Fat Full Liquids. (e.g. Diet Carnation Instant Breakfas****er, tea or coffee (unsweetened), broth or bouillon, Crystal Lite, Diet gelatin, cream soups with fat-free milk, SF popsicles, SF yogurt, SF lowfat pudding, cream of wheat or oatmeal) 5. Why not?!?! There not going there!!! LOL Keep in mind you may end up with a catheter though! 6. My hospital kept me comfortable with what they had - so no suggestions except maybe your own pillow and blanket if you don't like the hospitals. 7. Haven't ran into the need for - SORRY! 8. Which ever you do just keep in mind that you may be only allowed to have a sponge bath for the first few days. Also, you need to consider what is most comfortable to lie on - you will be doing a lot of it and you do not want a headache! I have shoulder length hair and it ended up looking like a rat nest, but my nurses helped my comb it out and keep it somewhat managable and clean with the shampoo cap (YUCK!) 9. You know I don't know what to tell you here - my husband was great through the whole thing. He has taken care of the house during my whole surgery and post op recovery to date. Best of luck with this one! Best of luck on your WL journey - I wish you an uneventful surgery and recovery and here's to a new you!! Tracy

Pamela..... How are you? 1. Don't pack alot of stuff. You won't use much. Take one set of PJ's, although you will only be able to use the hospital gown, its more comfortable. 2. Make sure it's clean and organized, because you will be resting alot. 3.You should wear lose fit clothes, I was usually in PJ's most of the time. 4.When I got home from surgery I had the following: SF jello, Fat Free Vanilla Pudding, Tuna, LowFat Mayo, Ricotta Cheese, Reduced Fat Peanut Butter, Baby Food (desserts like banana, applesauce, pears, etc), SF Popsicles, I would make chicken or beef broth enough for two days, or I would have Cream of Chicken Soup, Mash Potatoes, Tea, Water, eggs, Crystal Light. 5.Don't see why not... 6. I did not need anything 7.I dont think it will be necessary 8, Getting it braided sounds good 9.Just to be there for you and give you support, my hubby was very supportive and very helpful. Have him prepare food for you, basically just to be there for you, remember you will not be able to bend, lift etc. OH and I slept in a recliner chair for a month. It was hard for me to sleep in my bed. Pamela you got my number, just call me and I will answer any other questions you might have. Love Mery Talk to you soon.
