Always feeling sick

I am 5 weeks out and I feel fine most of the time but as soon as I eat or drink I feel really sick to my stomach. I feel like my tummy is doing "flip flops" and its followed by extreme nausea. It happens after I drink or eat anything. I am never hungry so I force myself to eat but I feel like I would rather just skip eating all together. I have yet to eat anything my doctor has not approved so thats not the issue. I guess I am wondering if its something I should be concerned about. Should I call my surgeon about it? My next appointment isn't for 2 more months and I am not sure if I can handle feeling sick all the time. Does anyone else ever feel sick or if they have in the past does it go away??

Hi Michelle. I'm 4 weeks out, and feel the *exact same way! I'm forcing myself to eat, too. I see my surgeon today, and plan to ask him if this is normal, or if I'm doing something wrong...... Feel better! Claudia

Hey Michelle....doc wasn't much help. He said it usually happens right away if it's going to happen, but nausea can strike at any time.....said not to worry so much about the protein, it's nearly impossible to get it all in now. He also said not to be afraid of carbs, esp. when feeling nauseous (keep watching sugars, tho). I tried a few animal crackers this afternoon while feeling nauseous, and actually felt better! Claudia

Hi Michelle, I'm 6 weeks out and feel the same way. As they introduce new foods it gets harder and harder. So I've chosen to have a soup day today.I think with time it will be better. I have lost 44 lbs so far and am so excited. I have 66 to go. Good luck and I hope you feel better. Tons of hugs .......Kathy

I remember feeling that way back then. Some times it still happens, even now. For a time, meal planning was a dreaded job for me. It will go away eventually, but every now and then, it creeps back - sort of a reminder to keep making the *good* food choices, eh?
