Want to talk to people who have dealt with the Empire plan

I have just completed all my testing for my WLS..all I am waiting on now is for my Dr's office to submit for insurance approval...I am having my surgery in Ithaca,NY...I would like to hear from people who have the Empire Plan

hi cynthia, i have empire blue cross/shield hmo and have had no problems with them at all. i am waiting for my approval as well but from what i hear they are very easy to deal with and respond relatively quick with the approval. good luck! shea

hello Empire blue cross blueshield hmo is not the same as empire plan nys ppo. its two totaly different ins. I too have the Empire plan nys. and very interested in knowing their approval record in the BPD/DS surgery. I understand they have no problem with approving the RNY. michelle

I have Empire Blue thru American Express. I live in Michigan and I was approved in two weeks for a REVISION! YEP I had it done twice! My case manager was Anne Marie! And she was very, very nice! Heck, I hear that they are one of the best to work with out there for WLS. Not sure if they're changing their procedures for doing the surgery! But I did not have a problem at all. Other than writting a letter on my own! Hope this info helps!
