Birth Control...

I am 3 weeks post op and anxious to get back on birth control. I asked my surgeon if I could and he said yes but the pill makes you retain water sometimes. Did anyone go back on birth control pills and find their weight loss slowed?

Well, I went on the pill about a month ago and I can't really see much of a change really. Can't say one way or the other. Personally, I'm just really not crazy about having to go back on the pill after all these years without it and I'm considering an IUD.

Michelle, I had never used the pill I started it in July/ august. and it slowed down my weight loss a lot. I did feel bloated and gross on it. I have read that some forms of BC can slow ur weight loss. I stopped the pill in september and my weight loss has picked up again. Nicole -148

I had surgery on 6/21 and started the pill a few weeks after. I haven't had a water retention problem and my weight loss has been rapid and steady. Good luck! Chris~ -86
