Frustration setting in
Hiya Everyone
Starting to feel a little frustrated lately. It seems that I am now at a point where I seem not to be losing. I barely eat as I am on pureed foods for the next month. Last weekend my husband and I went away and I was really good with eating out. For breakfast I had a one egg cheese omlet w/ cheese sauce on top to keep it moist. Lunch was usually three tablespoons of cottage cheese w/sf jello, and jello was 3 tablespoons of protein with 2 tablespoons mashed potatoes and some veggies. Now that I am home I have been drinking my protein shake for breakfast because it is easier to get my meds down with. Lunch is another 4 oz of protein shake and dinner tonight was 3-4 oz of home made beef stew that I pureed. I stop eating the minute I feel my stomach gurgle because I have found this to be a safe point to stop where I am not full but satisfied. I also drink my water in between. Now, is this just a temporary set back? I thought I would have lost a little bit more than the 23 lbs I lost since surgery. It seems I have not lost anything in over a week. Am I doing something wrong? I also noticed that some of you that had surgery around the same time as me are already on solid food. I don't mind the pureed but I wonder why Dr.'s are different in their patient orders as to when to eat what.

Hi Marianne,
I am sorry to hear that you are frustrated. I do know that each surgeon has their own set of "food rules" with what you can eat when.
Did you get the e-mail I sent you about the local meeting in port jeff? I think there are post-op patients that had Dr. Adaniel. Maybe if you can make it, you can talk to one of them.
