Hello! I am reaching out to those who have undergone the Transcend IGS procedure. I am a rep. from a TV Production Company, producing programs for Japanese networks. My clients in Japan are very interested in the Transcend IGS technology and would like to make a TV story about this. Obesity is growing at an alarming rate in Japan, and we hope to make the viewers of this program (in Japan) aware of many ways of battling with obesity, including this one that is still on clinical trial in America and is available in Europe but has not reached Japan yet on any level. I am looking for people who are willing to speak about their honest IGS experience on camera. The program will air in Japan exclusively, and we can go around your schedule for the interview. If you would like to contribute, please drop me a line at the address below. [email protected] Thank you!!

Hi Maya ... Just letting you know that I believe your response to this will be quite minimal. Getting WLS approved by health insurance companies in the U.S. can be a daunting task -- especially when it comes to anything that might be considered experimental/investigative, as I believe would be the case for the gastric pacer. For example, I am disabled as a byproduct of autoimmune disease and obesity and I have been battling for 8 months to get approved for a Duodenal Switch, which has been performed for over 15 years. Still, we face resistance for approval because the insurance companies continue to label the procedure as "experimental." Since the gastric pacer is SO new, I've yet to hear anyone on the boards who has mentioned having it. Nonetheless, good luck in your search and if you haven't done so already, I suggest posting your request to the main message board.
