insurance quetion

i was wondering if anyone has BC/BS of Illinois ?? Dr O'malleys office told me that they r one of the toughest to get an answer from .. I have my seminar March 31 st 2005 .. I cant wait to get to be a loser .It's killing me .. i heard it's worth the wait for Dr.O'Malley .. kim

It may be worth the wait for Dr. O'Malley but be aware that many BCBS across the country are finding a way to exclude WLS from their policies starting 1/1/05 ... With BCBS of FL leading the way. (You can easily research this by doing a Google search; there's even an artifcle here on the OH website about it.) Depending on your co-morbids and the amount of pre-op testing you need, there are certainly a host of surgeons who can move you along faster than March 2005 ... As long as you can get an insurance company-approved date of surgery before 12/31/04 (even if the date of surgery is AFTER that date), you stand the greatest chance of having your surgery. I was looking into Dr O'Malley, but then Dr Boss was recommended to me. Dr Boss works with Dr O'Malley, they even assist each other and their offices are right next to each other in the hospital. Dr Boss has a much shorter waiting time. I had my seminar in June 2004, and my surgery is scheduled for November 18, 2004. I really like Dr Boss, and I have spoken with many others that have the same opinion. Marty
