Question on insurance

Hii all! I'm new here and just starting out. I have MVP and I couldnt find it on the Insurance page. Do you know if they cover gastric bypass? Also, I want this surgery real bad...Im going to speak with my doctor next week about it..but I have no problems other than the fact that I am morbidly obese. I weigh 374lbs and im 5'9..I dont have high blood pressure, I dont have high cholestoral..no major problems except for the fact that I cant lose weight as hard as i try i always gain it back. I want to use this as a tool..to teach me to eat better and smaller portions.....I should have named the subject on this post MANY QUESTIONS!..haha Any help would be great! Tanya

Hi Tanya. I have MVP, and they've been FANTASTIC!! I was approved in less than a week from the time my surgeon submitted papers......and will cover the tummy tuck in 18 months! Just call them, tell them you want info on their coverage of whatever procedure you want (ie: LAP RNY) and they'll help you out! Good luck! Claudia

Thanks so much for letting me know...Did you have any other diagnoses other than obesity?..I know some insurances wont let u get it done without at least 2.

I have sleep apnea & foot pain.......but my surgeon said he has a "contract" w/ MVP, and if he states it's medically necessary, it's covered......worked for me! Claudia
