Hi Everyone
Hi - I'm Mary - I just joined up yesterday. The psychoanalyst my surgeon sent me to for evaluation (part of the preop testing process I guess?) suggested I visit this site before I see her Tuesday so that if I have questions they might be answered here, and to get some extra support.
I've been sort of hot/cold on the surgery for the past year or so, but a co-worker had the lapband and said it was the best decision of her life-so I'm taking the leap.
I start all the bloodwork/tests/Dr appointments next week. I'm a little nervous because I HATE HATE HATE needles.
Anyways - just wanted to introduce myself - I hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend!

Welcome Mary,
This is truly a remarkable journey that you'll never be truly prepared for. It's like packing for Aruba and ending up in New Zealand. Still on vacation but maybe the clothing isn't appropriate. I wish you all the best and would like to pass on this tiny bit of advice. WRITE, QUESTION, and DOCUMENT. Write down questions that pop into your head even if at the moment you think it's dumb. Eventually you may need an answer for that dumb one. Question, your doctors, surgeon, friends, and everyone who has anything to do with your surgery. Never feel that you are not important you are the most important person on the team. Document, always get copies of your results, blood work, x-rays, endoscopy, any and everything that has information about you. All the best and I look forward to reading about your journey.
