LIPO Suffolk's March Meeting
Missed the last LIPO Suffolk meeting? Well, here's what went on....
v We were thrilled to welcome some new members and see some members return that we haven't seen in a while.
v The cookbook committee is moving along with the LIPO cookbook. They are still looking for some recipes. Email them to: mailto:[email protected].
v The March contest is still going on....have a friend "like" LIPO's Facebook page. Don't forget to have them write you sent them on the wall. You or your friend could win a yummy case of Soy Revival Chips or Kays Naturals (quite delicious, I might add. We got free samples at the meeting) or five Chobani Yogurt coupons.
v We have many upcoming activities around the corner. Remember to check them out at: http://www.facebook.com/LIPO.Nation?sk=events You can also find all about our 2nd Annual Dinner Dance and our fun Midnight Bowling Fundraiser at that link.
v We are so excited that OH is holding a conference this year right around the corner in Hauppauge! (http://www.obesityhelp.com/events/2011-nyc-event.html) Better get you tickets fast, because the venue is on the smaller side, and it's expected to sell out. Remember to use the code: RuggieroNY11 to save $30 and get some free gifts!!
v We enjoyed the "Comedy Stylings of Loretta" and had some laughs over a stinky subject. (You better ask someone who was there to explain that one!!!)
v We had an incredible guest speaker, Jean Rafferty, LCSW-R, ACSW,MSW. She is a Clinical Social Worker that is also a 15 year post-op Gastric Bypass patient. I found it so awesome that she "gets it"! Her speech was informative, motivational and very supportive. She has a private practice, in case anyone is interested. You can find her office information at: http://tinyurl.com/4kpv6d9.
I wrote down a quote that I felt really solidified the discussion of the meeting..."If you don't value yourself, nobody else will value you". Don't forget that support is the key to success, and you can never get enough!
Until next month!
Hugs to all,
Lisa (AKA Ziggy)
