any support groups in Queens or Long Island?

Just wanted to know if there are any support groups in Queens or Long Island?

I have 2 bariatric support groups on Long Island.  One in Nassau County that meets tomorrow Thursday, 2/24 & the 4th Thursday of every month at the Island Trees Library in Levittown and one in Suffolk County that meets the 3rd Tuesday of every month (the next one is on 3/15) at the Sayville Public LIbrary from 6:30-9:00pm.  Feel free to pm me if you have any other questions or check out our Facebook page

That's great that you have this support group in Nassau.  I was trying to find one, but they were all in hospitals and you needed to have surgery at that hospital.  I had my surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital in the city and I go the support meetings as much as I can, but its a trek into the city.  But I am happy that I found this group.

My support group is in Patchogue, NY the 2nd thurdsay of the month from 5:30-7 at 55 Route 112

Just wanted to let you know about 3 other area groups... :)

My group that I run, SCALE--Second Chance At Life Everyday! :)

We meet in the Community Center at Sayville Commons apt complex every other Saturday morning at 9am. :) We have a meeting this Saturday, 3/12/11 and every other Sat after that.

 It's a great group, if I do say so myself! lol

Also, Good Samaritan Hospital has a group(open to everyone) the opposite Saturday mornings also at 9...The hospital is on Montauk Hwy in West Islip. We meet in the conference room behind the cafeteria--the front desk can direct you. So, their next meeting is next Saturday 3/19/11 and every other Sat after that. Great group!

Also, my friend good friend and fellow OH support group leader, Rachel leads a group, POSE LI--Post Ops Supporting Each Other on LI--2 Thursday evenings a month at Panera Bread in East Meadow(for now--new location in the works) Also an awesome group!

No matter which you attend, or multiple, get support someplace--it's the key to our success! Right, Maryellen??? :)
