3rd Time is the Charm !!!
After 2 cancelled surgery dates it looks like Monday 10/11/10 will be a success. (I hope). Rather not go back over the past and still a little nervous about something going wrong but I am starting to believe it will really happen. Scheduled for Monday at Mercy Hospital w/ Dr. Garber. All day I've been thinking about all the things I will do once I drop some weight and feel up to it. Things as simple as go for a walk in the park, play with my nephews and wear clothes I like rather then, what fits! I has been over 1 year since I've started this journey. I pray very thing goes as planned, Dr. Garber made sure I understand there is a possibility he will go in and not be able to do the By-pass due to prior surgeries, but I am thinking positive. Looking foward to posting about how well everything went.
Wish me Luck,
Eileen

I wish you the best. What prior surgeries did you have that he is telling you that he may not be able to perform the surgery? I had my gallbladder, appendix, reflux and exploratory surgeries all laproscopic prior to my RNY. I was told that there was a chance that I might have to be converted to open but they never said there was a chance I couldn't have the surgery. The reflux surgery is what made my surgery so complicated. They had to undo it and then do my RNY. It made my surgery 5 1/2 hours long and thankfully my surgeon was able to do it laproscopically after all.
The reflux surgery involved wrapping the top of the stomach around the bottom of my esophagus to tighten up the valve that controls acid from coming up. Unfortunatly this was in the way of having WLS, so I had to have it reversed. I was nervous that my Reflux would come back but thankfully it didn't

Best of luck Eileen, glad your thinking positive that all will happen on 10/11!! I just got my date 10/26 from Dr Spencer Holover, same practice as your doctor! I have a nature of worrying that something will mess up the date too but trying to pu**** out of my head. I can't say enough good things about everyone I have come into contact with at their offices!!
