***Hello New Yorkers--I've Just Arrived and Need Help!!***
Hello Fellow New Yorkers,
I have recently moved from the MA/RI area after having RNY/GBS and am looking for some support. I am living in between Rochester and Buffalo, in Orleans County. I am currenly having a lot of trouble adjusting to the move and to the surgery itself. The past few days have been filled with nothing but vomiting and "fullness". Anyone from around this area know of any support groups or good surgeons that I coukld hook up with? Thank so much!

Wow that's a big move so soon after surgery. That would be a tough adjustment even without having just had surgery!
Unfortunately, I'm not from western NY. so I don't know of support gourps in that area. But... if you were to phone a local hospital and ask for Bariatric Centers in the area ... that might be a place to start.

As far as your vomiting & fullness... it sounds like you may have a stricture. If there is any way that you could contact your surgeon in RI and ask for a referral to a surgeon in this area- that might be good also.

that is a big move. in buffalo there are 2 main support groups. one is at buffalo general hospital. it is held the 3rd wednesday of every month. the other support group is with dr caruana at synergy in williamsville. i do not know when they hold it. my surgeon was dr. hoffman with buffalo general. he was awesome and id highly recommend him
