Hi All ~

I work for a company the has WLS benefits excluded from our coverage. So from my understanding, that is pretty much a non-option. I was just wondering how the majority of people pay for their surgeries? I sometimes feel like the only one who works for a bunch of creeps who doesn’t cover this. Do people take out loans? Borrow money? Change jobs?I am just kind of curious. I have hit a brick wall and feel like I was thrown out of the race before I even got a chance to warm up.Any information, suggestions or guidance would be greatly appreciated, I am so upset and feel so defeated, I just do not know what to do.

Thanks ~
Barb

Its alot cheaper if you do it overseas in a foreign country...but its also alot riskier.  I would change jobs and hope they have it covered.  good luck!

Check the wording on that exclusion carefully. They way they are worded can be really confusing and make you think that it is not covered. Call them and verify. If you have other insurance options at work check them out too and if any of them cover it change when you can. Keep in mind that a company that covers it may havce a higher premium than you are currently paying and you may not be able to change until November (open enrollement month).
